Who we are
We are Sextant Camp. We have a vision to one day provide a zip-line transport system across several full city blocks of Black Rock City, NV.
To accomplish this goal, we must begin by providing the central hub. Our intentions are to lead by example, hoping one day others will link into our system. Sextant Camp is the effort to build this central hub.
In 2013, we built v1.0 of Sextant Camp with a 27-foot dome and a 36-foot high crows nest on top.
Connected to that, a 160-foot zip-line.
For 2014, we are building a taller structure (52-foot peak height).
16-feet from the ground, our luxurious Vünderbar serves delicious cocktails while you wait before you zip down our longer improved 350-foot zip-line that terminates on Esplanade Street.
Before you hit the ground you will pass by two 17,000 watt 32-foot tesla coil toroids arching 24' sparks of over 4 million volts. The top of our dome will be coated with 2,500 colored addressable LED lights, reacting to music and human movement.
For 2014, we will be located at 3:15 and Esplanade.
